IMPORTANT Clean Sweep Update March 5, 2009

Jefferson County Solid Waste & Air Quality Committee will be conducting four clean sweeps this year. Clean sweep is an alternative way of properly disposing of hazardous materials. This year with television signals being switched from analog to digital a lot of residents purchased new televisions. Please take a responsible approach and bring unwanted TVs to a clean sweep or check the DNR (Department of Natural Resources) website about the television recycling media kit. The Jefferson County Clean Sweep schedule with two new locations is as follows:

Saturday, April 4, 2009 - Time 8-11 a.m.
Jefferson County Fair Park, Jefferson

Registration is required to attend a clean sweep. Register by calling the Jefferson County Zoning Department at 920-674-7430 for the April 4, September 19, and October 15 dates. Call 920-262-4080 or 4081 for the May 9th date in Watertown. Registration is important because it helps us staff the event properly and also prevents long lines. Residents of Jefferson County are eligible to participate and will be charged $10 per vehicle. Please bring cash or a check made out to Jefferson County Clean Sweep Program. Businesses will be charged per pound for material disposal. All businesses, churches, schools, emergency services, and Jefferson County facilities will be required to fill out a VSQG (Very Small Quantity Generator) sheet that they can obtain by calling 920-674-7430. A no obligation disposal price quote will be provided prior to those participants bringing material to the collection facility. Businesses, please register one to two weeks prior to the event. We need at least a week for processing your paperwork.
