The City of Fort Atkinson is announcing a new curbside brush collection schedule. The City will be utilizing a global positioning system (GPS) for brush pickup. This new system will allow the city staff to increase their efficiency, reduce costs and still provide this valuable service to the community.

CURBSIDE BRUSH COLLECTION AND CHIPPING SCHEDULE

North side of the Rock River – 1st Tuesday of the month April – November.
South side of the Rock River – 2nd Tuesday of the month April – November
Christmas trees – as needed in January and February

To schedule brush pick up, visit the City of Fort Atkinson’s home page at www.fortatkinsonwi.net or contact the Department of Public Works at (920) 563-7771. Please schedule your brush pick up a minimum of 24 hours prior to your scheduled service date to guarantee your brush pickup.

 To schedule a curbside collection of brush, please provide your name, address, phone, email and any comments. Please provide a cross street if you are located on a corner to assist with locating the brush.

BRUSH COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS

Have brush out on the curb by 7:00 a.m. on scheduled collection dates.
Brush Dimensions: Minimum of ¾” in diameter at the cut end and at least 3’ in length - Maximum 6 ft in length.
Piled brush neatly on the terrace with the cut end facing the street away from trees, parked cars, fire hydrants, utility poles, mailboxes and other obstructions.
Do not bag, bundle or bind brush together with string or wire.
Remove all root balls from the brush. Root balls can be taken to the compost site if all the dirt has been removed.
Do not mix grass, leaves, dirt, debris, etc. Please take these items to the compost site.
No lumber, railroad ties, pallet, landscaping material etc.
Brush cut by contractors will NOT be collected. Please make arrangements with the contractor for material disposal.
