Police Department Services
Computerized Vehicle Registration
We currently are able to process new vehicle registrations for autos, light trucks, mopeds and motorcycles. We also can process title transfers, renewals, and replacement titles. We charge an additional $10.00 for renewals and $19.50 for all other services.
Motor vehicle Crash
The Fort Atkinson Police Department investigates most types of vehicle crashes. If at all possible, DO NOT move your vehicle from the crash scene. Be sure to take note of any specific information that may be helpful to officers and give the dispatcher information about injuries when calling. Please call (920) 563-7777 if no injuries are known, and 9-1-1 for any crash that involves injuries.

A 24 hour tip line is available for persons with information about criminal or drug activity. Callers can remain anonymous. You may be eligible for rewards if your call leads to arrest(s).
Vacation Home Checks
We will retain information concerning departure and return dates of vacations resulting in vacant homes for a period of time. Persons wishing this service can stop down to fill out a short informational/contact sheet with departure and arrival dates. A local key holder and phone number will also be required for emergency purposes.
Signs
NO signs may be placed upon boulevards or terrace areas (between the sidewalk and curb) or on power poles, utility poles, traffic signs or signals. Signs include, but are not limited to: Rummage Sale Signs, Political Endorsements, etc.
Bicycle Licensing
All bikes owned by residents of the City of Fort Atkinson must be registered with the Fort Atkinson Police Department. Registration is $1.00 and is non-expiring. We find dozens of bikes each year and are able to quickly return those that are registered. Those that are not returned go to public auction.
Fingerprinting Services
Fingerprinting services are available through the Fort Atkinson Police Department for any citizen of Fort Atkinson, or for those applying for professional licenses employed within the city of limits. In order to receive the service, you must present a picture ID. You may call (920)563-7777 for an appointment.
