Brush Collection - Curbside
The City of Fort Atkinson utilizes GPS for brush pickup. This system allows city staff to increase their efficiency, reduce costs and still provide this valuable service to the community.
CURBSIDE BRUSH COLLECTION AND CHIPPING SCHEDULE
North side of the Rock River – 1st Tuesday of the month April – November
South side of the Rock River – 2nd Tuesday of the month April – November
Christmas trees – as needed in January and February
Schedule brush pick up below or contact the Department of Public Works at 920-397-9909.
Please schedule your brush pick up a minimum of 24 hours prior to your scheduled service date to guarantee your brush pickup.
To schedule a curbside collection of brush, please provide your name, address, phone, email and any comments. Please provide a cross street if you are located on a corner to assist with locating the brush.
BRUSH COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS
Have brush out on the curb by 7 a.m. on scheduled collection dates.
Brush Dimensions: Minimum of ¾ inches in diameter and a maximum of 6 inches in diameter. A minimum of 3 ft. and a max of 10 ft. in length; piles should not exceed 4 ft. high and 6 ft. wide.
Pile brush neatly on the terrace with the cut end facing the street away from trees, parked cars, fire hydrants, utility poles, mailboxes and other obstructions.
Do not bag, bundle or bind brush together with string or wire.
Remove all root balls from the brush. Root balls can be taken to the compost site if all the dirt has been removed.
Do not mix grass, leaves, dirt, debris, etc. Please take these items to the compost site.
No lumber, railroad ties, pallet, landscaping material, etc.
Brush cut by contractors will NOT be collected. Please make arrangements with the contractor for material disposal.
BRUSH COLLECTION FEES
Brush collection in accordance with guidelines is free. Residents will incur a removal fee for any brush piles exceeding dimension requirements or placed in a manner that causes removal time to exceed 15 minutes. Removal fees will be charged at a rate equal to $270 per hour and billed in 10 minute increments or $45 per 10 minutes.
